POIT Lesson 6 Peripherals


  • Peripherals are used for computer input and output
    • Ex: Mouse would be input and the Monitor is the output
    • A USB drive is both an input and an output
  • A Keyboard is an input device 
  • Most mice use either optical or laser technology
  • monitors are output devices
    • LCD Monitor
    • CRT Monitors
  • Touch screen monitors are both input and output
  • A pixel is the smallest colored dot that can be displayed on a screen
    • More pixels, the more detail
    • standard resolution: 1280x720 pixels
    • High Definition: 1920x1080
  • Printers and scanners add value to systems 
    • Multi-function, Both
    •  Scanners, Input
    •  Inkjet Output
  • Internal Drives
    • 3 1/2 in floppy drive
    • CD-ROM Drive
    • DVD drive
    • Blu-Ray
  • External drives\
    • DVD drive with laser light
    • USB drive
    • solid state drive
  • Tower cases have expansion bays
    • Towers usually have at least one bay for an optical drive, such as a DVD or blu-ray drive

First 9-Weeks

Q/ What is your first impression of the first 9-Weeks of HighSchool?
A/ Far Easier Socially than middle school

Q/ What hasbeen difficult about the transition from middle school?
A/ that we aren't led through everything like being reminded of grades. Starting to study and doing my homework is also a hard transition

Q/ what has been easy about the transition?
A/ Socializing, getting integrated into the school and such

Q/ What have you learned about yourself?
A/ That I enjoy being apart of clubs and other groups
